Vom 7. bis 10. Juni probte die Phoenix Foundation mit 40 Teilnehmern in zwei Besetzungen zusammen mit den Jugend Jazz Orchestern von Hessen (Junge Big Band), Berlin, dem Saarland und Schleswig-Holstein. Die Dozenten waren Jiggs Whigham, Claus Reichstaller, Olaf Polziehn und Andi Maile von der SWR Big Band, der f\u00fcr den kurzfristig erkrankten Peter Weniger eingesprungen ist.<\/p>\n<p>Die Veranstaltung stie\u00df auf gro\u00dfes Interesse bei der Band, was nicht zuletzt zwei voll besetzte Ensembles zeigen, die alle die lange Anfahrt nach Schlitz auf sich genommen haben.<\/p>\n<p>Ein Highlight waren die gemeinsamen Proben, bei denen komplette S\u00e4tze der einzelnen Ensembles ausgetauscht wurden. Jede Band hatte vorher dazu dieselben Arrangements vorbereitet, es konnte also intensiv gearbeitet und die Arrangements ins Bandbook hinterher aufgenommen werden.<\/p>\n<p>Beim Abschlusskonzert er\u00f6ffnete die Junior Band. Juni spielte die Phoenix Foundation auf der Hauptb\u00fchne L\u00f6herplatz beim Idsteiner Jazzfestival. 3 Sets vor jazzaffinem Publikum &#8211; immer eine dankbare Aufgabe. Im B\u00fcrgerhaus in Urbar spielte eine bestgelaunte Phoenix Foundation in top-form auf. Mit unb\u00e4ndiger Spielfreude, musikalische Pr\u00e4zision, katalysiert die Qualit\u00e4t der Musik, locker und mit einer guten Portion Humor pr\u00e4sentiert aus Band und Publikum eine begeisterte Fangemeinde des West-Coast-Sounds.
