Die Phoenix Foundation hat weltweit Kooperationspartner für den musikkulturellen Austausch und in den letzten 20 Jahren fast alle Kontinente bereist. Legendär die Reise 2017 nach Südkorea mit 10 Konzerten in 12 Tagen in Arenen mit mehreren Tausend Zuschauern.

Eine mit Spannung erwartete Premiere ist eine Ruanda-Reise im August. Auf Einladung des Innenministeriums wird die Reise im Rahmen der Länderpartnerschaft Rheinland-Pfalz/Ruanda durchgeführt. Die Reise findet mit finanzieller Unterstützung des Innenministeriums und des Goetheinstitutes statt.

Rockin‘ in Rwanda, Motto der Reise und Name eines der Titel, die mit der „Ingoma Nshya Women Initiative“, einer Trommlerinnen-Gruppe aus Musanze, einstudiert und aufgeführt werden – exklusiv arrangiert für die Phoenix Foundation vom Afro-Latin Spezialist Michael Mossman, der bereits mehrfach mit der Phoenix Foundation gearbeitet hat. Michael Mossman hat u.a. in Deutschland mit der HR, NDR und WDR Bigband eigene Programme produziert. Weitere Partner sind die Gruppe „Kinga Blues“, Musiker der Nyundo Music School sowie bekannte Musiker aus der Musikszene von Musanze. Open Air Konzerte finden in Kigali, Musanze, Huye und  Muhanga statt. Die „Jazzpioniere“ ins Herz von Afrika freuen sich auf die Zeit in Ruanda und „brennen“ für neue Erfahrungen bei Workshops, Konzerten und Gesprächen. Auf eine gute Zeit mit der Phoenix Foundation und ihren ruandischen Partnern bei „Rockin‘ in Rwanda!“

„Rockin’in Rwanda“: Phoenix Foundation to Thrill Rwandans with Concerts and Workshops following

KIGALI-RWANDA, – With its origin from the City of Mainz, capital of the German Federal State Rhineland-Palatinate, the so called Phoenix Foundation – Youth Jazz Orchestra has announced to tour through Rwanda to play a number of musical concerts in different parts of the country.

Following the Motto „Rockin´in Rwanda“, the group is going to rehearse and perform with various well-known Rwandan musicians and bands, aiming to have a cultural and musical exchange and to strengthen the partnership between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda.

The Jazz-Rock band will let the audience swing in two concerts in the capital Kigali. The first concert will take place at the Coordination Office of the Partnership between Rhineland-Palatinate and Rwanda, on Tuesday 7th August 2018. The second concert will be located at Kandt House Museum featuring the Rwandan Jazzband Kinga Blues and the percussion group Ingoma Nshya Women Initiative, on Tuesday 14th of August.

Further, Jazz music lovers will swing with the orchestra in Huye at Inzu Mberabyombi Ya Huye on 9th August 2018 featuring Ingoma Nshya Woman initiative, in Muhanga on Friday 10th August at Nyundo music school featuring students of Nyundo Music School and in Musanze at Inshuti Arts and Cultural Center on 12th August 2018 with different resident artist.

Get ready for the fantastic musical creativity that expands the spectrum where compositions, arranged by the afro-latin specialist Michael Mossman, will be presented.

The Youth Jazz Orchestra was founded in 1979 and is located in Mainz, the capital of the German Federal State Rhineland-Palatinate, and is in charge of the „Landesmusikrat Rheinland-Pfalz“ (State-Music-Council of Rhineland-Palatinate). Since 1998 the Orchestra is named Phoenix Foundation.

The Phoenix Foundation prepares to future careers at top universities around the globe and enables young musicians to enter the international scene of jazz. The Foundation is considered as one of the talent pools of the German Jazz Scene. During the years, the orchestra toured through the USA, Korea, Brazil, South Africa, China, India, and Bolivia and performed with internationally well-known musicians such as current musical director Steve Fidyk. In 2017, the foundation traveled to South Korea, played 10 concerts in 12 days and inspired thousands of people.

Producer of the Youth Jazz Orchestra and Band director is the famous German Jazz-Musician Frank Reichert. A team of 18 highly talented jazz musicians at an average age of 20 supports the musical work of the band during their tour in Rwanda. The band will let the audience rock – so rock with them in Rwanda.
